Research

  • Interviews with 4 key Serendis staff, walking through each person’s role and responsibilities in running the Mentoring Programs

  • Sessions with the Founding Director to learn all about the fundamentals of mentoring

  • Review of survey feedback and learnings gathered from previous mentoring programs

  • Top level review of competing platforms

Key Insights

The manual nature of Serendis’ processes and reliance on complex spreadsheets were leading to:

  • huge time inefficiences

  • increases in human error

  • data matching irregularities

  • inability to easily access overviews of data and program progress

  • inability to scale

4 key user journeys need to be considered - Serendis, HR, mentors and mentees

Mentors and mentees are high achievers, self improvers and very time poor

Mentors were often unsure exactly where they were in the program

Personas / Journeys

Define the Problem

Serendis

How might we automate our processes to streamline the mentoring programs, increase efficiency and provide greater insights?

Mentors

How might we enable our mentors to have more meaningful conversations with mentees?

Mentees

  • Batch automation for generating mentoring agreements

  • Ability to create events, send invites and capture RSVPs

  • An automated email solution

  • An authoring tool to create and publish learning content for mentors and mentees

Ideation

  • Many, many whiteboarding sessions

  • User flows
